DIA Plans to Integrate with Drupal, PHP, and more

| | | |

Democracy In Action is building a Salsa connectivity module for the open source CMS Drupal, but that's only part of the picture. We are actively collaborating with our user and developer communities to provide open APIs and libraries so that external systems can leverage and integrate the open structure of Salsa and DIA's high-performance CRM services. This collaboration has already yielded a number of successes -- DIA tools have been integrated with Drupal and Plone, and a comprehensive set of PHP libraries is close to release -- but we want to work with our community to provide tools for all of the languages that they use. If you are a developer hoping to integrate Salsa and DIA services with Ruby on Rails, Python, Perl, .NET, or anything else, let's work together to keep growing the progressive community's best set of online engagement tools!

To get the conversation started, please add your comments, or contact us at developer@democracyinaction.org. And watch this space for more details!

don't forget joomla!

integrate with joomla too please

PHP and Ruby libraries + Ruby on Rails integration

In addition to the PHP library that we've been using for about a year (project page is here, svn repository at https://svn.radicaldesigns.org/projects/dia_api/trunk/DIA), we've just developed a Ruby library bundled with an ActiveResource wrapper for easy integration with Ruby on Rails, which can be downloaded from this page or checked out of subversion from https://svn.radicaldesigns.org/projects/ruby_dia_api/trunk

Already got Joomla-DIA connector out the door with J!DIA

Hi Joomla users,

Don't worry, our DIA friends didn't forget about us in the Joomlasphere. They're just a little wrapped up in Drupal fun to remember that the J!DIA component for Joomla was released months ago by us PICnetters:

J!DIA - Joomla and Democracy in Action together in harmony

If you email us at info picnet.net, we'll ship you off the J!DIA component (open source, of course)! As our Soapbox users know, this is included as part of the Non-Profit Soapbox experience. =)

Best,
Ryan

Keep it coming!

Its great to hear about the Joomla, Drupal, Ruby, and PHP integration that our community is already undertaking -- believe me, if I didn't list your project its because I'm pretty new here, so help me keep learning. We want to work with you to catalog these projects and libraries in a place where our developers can help each other, and we're also interested in expanding and refining the Salsa API to make the process of building libraries both easier and more rewarding.

Please keep posting so that we can all learn more about what is out there, and email us at developer@democracyinaction.org

Hot!

How cool is that... This will make integration crazy easy, hopefully.

Agaric Design Collective is interested

Happy Second Birthday! Is there a list of DIA integration tools available now and downloads? It would be good to highlight them somewhere.

If we can help on the Drupal integration you can reach Agaric here.
